Cover Reveal for Jade C. Jamison Scorched (Feverish #2)

Genere: Rock Star Romance
best to read both the Bullet and Feverish series before, but it can be read as a stand alone

When you play with the Devil, you’re going to get burned.

When Sam Archer, bad boy rock star, decides to move out of the city and do some soul searching, the last thing he expects to find is his new neighbor Gracelyn Ward.  She’s everything he’s not—19 years old, religious, and an obedient child—but he finds himself falling for her anyway.

Gracelyn Ward has always had a crush on Sam—who hasn’t?  But she never thought he would be moving next door to her family and end up being so...likeable.  Sam is everything Gracelyn’s parents never wanted for her, not to mention that he’s over 30.  Despite her better judgment, it’s not long before she’s falling in love and beginning to question everything she’s ever held dear in her life.

When her parents give an ultimatum, Grace and Sam are torn between desire and obligation. Will they succumb to the fire or will they get scorched by the flames?

📖 Review of BASH by SJ Duncan

BashBash by SJ Duncan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bash by SJ Duncan is an enthralling 4 week or so sleepover in the mansion of Bradley Morgan. Juan (stagename) Morgan, a superstar at the top of his music career, fronts a quirky and friendly demeanor to the journalist who is writing a piece on him. The journalist, once at the top of his own career is ready to put past mistakes behind and remake a name for himself with this interview despite the seemingly impossible strings attached.

It doesn't take long for the fissures in Morgan's multi-faceted personality to split and ultimately crack wide open much like the threatening foundation of his precariously positioned mansion on a cliff. Morgan continuously tells the journalist “I just want you to get me,” but with each day that passes, the journalist is forced to ‘get himself.’ Feelings and fears buried deeply begin to surface.

Morgan is a very believable iconic rockstar.
Eccentric traits that so often accompany talent--check.
The sense of entitlement that in many cases evolves with stardom. Check.
Artistic temperament batshit crazy. Check.

Secondary characters are just as well developed and are an integral part of setting the story’s mood and scenes. Elena, a pop or rock star is a love interest although Bash is definitely not a romance. Gree and Gene, employees of Morgan, both have distinctive and interesting personalities.

Bash perfectly portrays celebrity life, journalists, and the oftentimes ugly mix of the two. Symbolism is vivid throughout the story. The self-discovery of each character as they interact may just hit home in a non-fictional way ;) I highly recommend to anyone who loves reading fictional (real) celebrity life and famous characters.

Review 📖 Montana Maverick by Debra Salonen

Montana Maverick (Big Sky Mavericks, #4)Montana Maverick by Debra Salonen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Montana Maverick by Debra Salonen is a heartwarming read. Meg Zabrinski researcher and wolf activist is determined to finish her book, so she spends this Christmas holiday in a remote Montana cabin.

Henry Frestone, Montana rancher, grandfather, and new guardian of 3 grandchildren after the loss of his daughter, sets off with the 3 grandchildren in his chopper despite a nasty snowstorm in an effort to get his sick granddaughter medical help when her fever spikes.

When the helicopter crashes, Meg hears it happen and hikes a good distance to rescue any survivors. Luckily, everyone aboard is physically okay but due to the weather, she ends up with a house full on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

There are a couple of underlying plots worth mentioning. Meg is at a point in her life where she desires to become a mother and has been looking into various methods of artificial insemination when Hank drops out of the sky with a ready-made family who are grieving and desperately need a mother.

Although she and Henry Firestone were on opposite sides of the wolf protection project, they are both open minded and mature enough to see both sides of a situation and do not harbor any resentment for one another. Their short friendship fizzles into passion. The children are each lovable with distinctive personalities and add a lot to this uplifting story.

Review 📖 Second String by M.C. Webb

Second StringSecond String by M.C. Webb
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Second String by M.C. Webb is a love story with an underlying theme of balancing dreams with reality. Jesse and Jett are both disillusioned with the hand life has dealt them. It is a hard journey but each come to realize they’re not failures because of something they can’t control and find themselves having to rise above the circumstances and learn to dream again.

Jesse , widow of a war hero, is a small town veterinarian with a strong loyalty to family, friends, and what she believes in.

Jett is the son of a pro quarterback who finds himself released from his contract before he can make a name for himself in pro football.

Their two worlds collide when Jett happens through the small Texas town and decides to stay for a bit. Both find themselves attracted to one another, but any relationship beyond friends is slow to develop.

This reads in 1POV with alternating POV by the main characters.

I would recommend this to any reader who is looking for a quick read and who likes inspirational type romances.

Thanks NetGalley and M.C. Webb for this review copy of Second String
